SEO SERVICES / AHMEDABAD
SEO Services in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad makes things and sells them to the world: textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, machinery, packaging. Most of those businesses still depend on marketplaces and brokers for inquiries. I help them build an organic channel they own, in English for export buyers and in Gujarati and English for the city itself.

In Ahmedabad the question I hear most often is not "how do we rank" but "how do we get inquiries that are not from IndiaMART". That is the right question. The city has one of India's strongest manufacturing and trading cultures, and many of its businesses have never had a website that generated a single serious buyer on its own. The demand exists; it is being captured by marketplaces, directories and competitors in other countries.
Ahmedabad's business landscape, seen through search
Ahmedabad's identity as a textile city goes back more than a century, and textiles remain a major engine: mills, processing houses, garment manufacturers and the fabric trade. Around that core sits a dense pharmaceutical and chemical cluster: API, intermediate, dye and specialty chemical makers in Vatva, Naroda, Odhav and the wider Gujarat belt. Add engineering, plastics, packaging and ceramics, plus the diamond and textile trade from nearby Surat, and you have a city built on B2B.
Two newer layers sit on top: GIFT City in Gandhinagar, attracting fintech, fund management and financial-services companies with a global audience, and the western corridor from SG Highway through Bopal, Gota, Prahladnagar and Shela, now a real estate and lifestyle market with its own high-intent local search.
What unites them is that search intent in Ahmedabad is overwhelmingly commercial and specific: a product, a grade, a certification, a MOQ, a location. Very little of it is informational in the way a SaaS or media audience is. SEO here has to be built for the inquiry, not the pageview.
A manufacturer's website should be the best catalogue a buyer finds on Google, not a brochure that points them back to a marketplace.
Types of businesses I help in Ahmedabad
Textile and garment manufacturers
Fabric processors, denim and cotton mills, home textiles, uniform and workwear suppliers. Buyers search by fabric type, GSM, finish and application, and those pages usually do not exist.
Pharma, API and chemical companies
Intermediates, APIs, dyes and pigments, specialty chemicals, contract manufacturing. Product pages built around CAS numbers, specifications, grades and compliance documents are the core of the strategy.
Engineering and machinery SMEs
Pumps, valves, plastic machinery, packaging lines, industrial components: often export-ready but searchable only through a third-party listing.
Exporters with international intent
Any of the above selling into Africa, the Middle East, Europe or the Americas, where international SEO and country-level targeting enter the plan.
GIFT City fintech and financial services
Funds, fintech products, advisory and compliance firms with a global or NRI audience, where trust content and precise positioning matter more than volume; my SaaS SEO approach applies to the product companies among them.
Real estate on the western corridor
Developers and consultants in SG Highway, Bopal, Gota, Shela and South Bopal, where buyers research obsessively and want project pages, locality guides and honest comparison content.
Education and coaching
Entrance coaching, design and management education, study-abroad consultants and private universities, with course and intake pages structured for Gujarati and English search.
Why B2B SEO in Ahmedabad is a different discipline
The catalogue is the site, and most catalogues are invisible
The typical Ahmedabad manufacturer's website has a "Products" page with a photo grid and no text, or a PDF catalogue Google cannot read well. Each product a buyer might search for deserves its own URL with the specification in plain HTML: grade, packing, purity, dimensions, standards met, applications, documents available. That one structural change often outperforms any amount of "about us" copy because it matches what buyers type; it is a site architecture problem first and a content problem second.
Low volume, high value
Keyword tools will say a query for a specific chemical intermediate gets very few searches a month. That number hides that one of those searches may be a procurement manager placing a recurring annual order. My keyword research for B2B clients ignores consumer-market volume thresholds and maps the full set of product, specification and sourcing queries, ranked by commercial value.
Trust documents are content
Buyers overseas want certifications, plant photographs, test reports, export history and the people behind the company before they send an RFQ. These pages do double duty: they convert, and they give Google the entity signals that separate a real manufacturer from a middleman. I write them with the same content SEO discipline I use everywhere; the subject is compliance, capacity and process rather than blog posts.
Technical debt from catalogue platforms
Many sites in the city were built on templates sold by the marketplace ecosystem itself: duplicate URLs, parameter-driven filters, thin auto-generated pages, no control over titles. They need a technical SEO cleanup, sometimes a migration, before the catalogue can rank.
From marketplace dependence to an owned channel
I do not tell clients to leave IndiaMART, TradeIndia or Alibaba. Those platforms work; the problem is they are the only thing working. The shift looks like this:
- Marketplace leads only
- Own catalogue indexed
- Product pages rank for specs
- Trust content converts
- Direct RFQs, lower cost per inquiry
Each stage is measurable: indexed product pages show in Search Console. Rankings for specification queries appear within months of the catalogue being properly structured, faster when a technical fix was the blocker. Direct inquiries are tracked by form and email, so you can compare the cost of an organic RFQ against a marketplace lead. This is the system that compounds, applied to a factory in Naroda: every product page added makes the site more authoritative for the next.
Export intent and international SEO
For exporters the audience is not in Ahmedabad at all. A buyer in Lagos, Dubai or Rotterdam searches in their own English (or Arabic, French, Spanish, German), with their own units and terminology, and sees results for their country. Ranking in India does nothing for them.
I work in stages: make the English site complete and fast enough to rank in any English-speaking market; where data shows demand from specific countries, add country-targeted sections with hreflang written for that buyer, not machine-translated; and only where another language is clearly driving inquiries, invest in properly translated content. The international SEO guide covers URL structure, hreflang and targeting; I never recommend more complexity than the demand justifies.
One local nuance: many businesses here are both manufacturers and traders, and the site must be clear which it is. International buyers want manufacturers, and a site that reads like a trader loses to a factory in another country with an honest "our plant" page.
Local search in the city: Gujarati, English and the western corridor
For businesses selling within Ahmedabad, local search follows the city's geography: SG Highway, Bopal, Gota, Satellite, Prahladnagar, Navrangpura, Maninagar, Chandkheda and Naroda are real modifiers people use. Clinics, schools, showrooms, restaurants and service providers need a properly maintained Google Business Profile and, with multiple locations, locality pages with genuinely different content. My local SEO service and local SEO guide cover the mechanics.
Gujarati search is real and growing, particularly on mobile for everyday services, education and healthcare. Many queries are typed in Roman script ("ahmedabad ma sari school") rather than Gujarati script, so I map both. For B2B and export businesses Gujarati is rarely worth building pages for; for consumer-facing businesses it is often the least competitive demand available.
How I work with Ahmedabad businesses
I work remote-first with companies across Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, from factory offices in Vatva to GIFT City towers, and I visit a plant or office when it helps me understand what you make. Engagements run through calls, shared documents and direct access to your website, with a clear owner on your side.
The first deliverable is an audit answering three questions: can Google crawl and understand your catalogue, which product and sourcing queries you could realistically win, and what a buyer would need to see to trust you. From there I build the strategy and implement it or work alongside your developer, reporting on inquiries and indexed pages, not vanity rankings.
Relevant work
The technical SEO and content architecture case study is the closest analogue to the catalogue rebuilds described above. The programmatic SEO build applies to manufacturers with hundreds of SKUs or grades, where templated product pages built on real data scale what a hand-written catalogue cannot.
Frequently asked questions
We already get inquiries from IndiaMART. Why do we need SEO?
Because those inquiries belong to the platform, not to you, and the cost rises as competition for paid positions grows. An organic channel on your own domain brings buyers who found you specifically, usually with clearer intent, and keeps working without a monthly fee. Most clients run both; the point is to stop depending on one.
Our products have tiny search volumes. Is SEO even worth it?
In B2B, low volume is normal and often misleading: a handful of monthly searches for a specific intermediate or fabric spec can include the exact buyer you want. I evaluate B2B keywords by value and relevance across the catalogue, not by consumer-style volume thresholds.
Should our export site be in multiple languages?
Only when the data supports it. A complete, fast English site ranks in most export markets. If inquiries or impressions from a specific non-English market are significant, country or language sections with hreflang come next. I avoid translating a whole site speculatively.
Does Gujarati-language content help an Ahmedabad business?
For consumer-facing businesses such as clinics, schools, showrooms and local services, yes, especially Roman-script Gujarati queries on mobile. For B2B manufacturers and exporters it rarely matters; I would rather spend that effort on specification pages.
Can you work with our existing website developer?
Yes, and I usually prefer it. I provide specifications, page structures and content, and review what is built. Without a developer, I implement directly on common platforms or recommend a rebuild if the current one cannot support a proper catalogue.
We are in GIFT City with a global audience. Is this different from a manufacturer?
Very different. Financial services and fintech need precise positioning, trust and compliance content, strong technical hygiene and often a SaaS-style content programme. The audience is international from day one, so planning starts with country targeting rather than the city.
If you make or trade something in Ahmedabad and want buyers to find you directly, I would like to see your catalogue. My pages on SEO in Mumbai and SEO in Pune cover similarly export-heavy, manufacturing-led markets.
